A month or so ago, the legendary Paul Sweeny posted this story about getting a Finnigans reunion together as a Camp Quality fundraiser. I’m sure many in the Canberra music scene would have fond memories of Finnigans & owner Millsy. Check it out, get in touch with Sweens, get involved & let’s make it happen.
Black metal bands ICICLAN (Tasmania) and WARDAEMONIC (West Australia) have announced a co-headlining tour of Australia. The five-gig trek takes in Adelaide (Aug. 29), Melbourne (Aug. 30), Hobart (Sept. 3), Canberra (Sept. 5) and Sydney (Sept. 6). Joining the bands for the Melbourne date will be Tasmanian black metallers MEPHISTOPHELES in their first interstate gig in two years.

Get down to Bar 32 in Civic this Thursday night where Birds Love Fighting presents GANGBUSTERS once again.
This week features three of Canberra’s finest indie bands: The Cherry Marines, Variodivers and Margaret Helen King. Doors open at 8.30. Entry only a fiver
We are half way though installing our new 8 way camera production system - should be up and running in the next few weeks, so the band dvd’s can have 8 camera angles instead of the one.. We even have guitar neck & kick drum cam.. very excited - new toys

Local indie outfit, Manilla Green, is seeking a drummer to join the band. If you think you fit the bill, then send us an email at contactus@manillagreen.com
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
1. Their own kit and method of transport
2. Commitment to learning the songs in-between practices and gigs
3. Commitment to practicing once every couple of weeks and being available for gigs
4. Fun, outgoing and friendly - we make music for our own satisfaction, and for the enjoyment of others.
5. Needs to be able to play well, and keep a rock-solid beat like a metronome.
6. Preferably has an interest in the type of music we play.
