Saltar Hype Entertainment & Vic Music present Rock The Bay. The inaugural rock music festival held at The Espy in St Kilda, one of Melbourne’s most historic landmarks and most respected & popular music venues.

Saturday March 7, 2009 (Labour Day Long-Weekend) will see The Espy explode with a frenzy of thumping drums & face-melting riffage as bands sweat it out all day, over three stages, throughout the entire venue.

Rock The Bay will showcase the immense talent found in the Aussie rock scene, featuring 32 of this our most exciting live bands including Electric Mary, Skybombers, Ink, Rook, Bushido, Bugdust, Engine Three Seven, Rincon, Bellusira, Tread, Twelve Foot Ninja, Tim McMillan Band, The Violet Flames, Dora Mah, Tinman and heaps more!

Hard ACT to Follow Band Announcement

The Hard ACT to Follow project has chosen which bands it aims to record in upcoming months for possible inclusion on a live compilation CD of the ACT region’s best rock, metal and punk bands.

There were over 40 eligible bands that submitted Expressions of Interest to be involved in the project, and a committee of 10 music industry representatives voted on which bands were most suitable to record. The chosen 16 bands (in alphabetical order) are:

This list may or may not be representative of what gets included on the final compilation as we may not get the chance to record some bands within the project time frame, bands may break up or decide not to be involved etc.
